Reconstructive Surgery for Laryngomalacia

Baby Lameck Kibet, from Kenya, had a bout of serious illness but the problem was undetected for a long time before he was diagnosed with Laryngomalacia. At this juncture, the family was advised to seek treatment from Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, Delhi India, where the child was evaluated by Dr. Kulbhushan Singh Dagar, Principal Director, Chief Surgeon & Head, Neonatal and Congenital Heart Surgery, Max Hospital, Saket, Delhi, India, who confirmed an aberrant left pulmonary artery. This condition was compressing the back of the trachea which further caused breathlessness. The trachea was also too narrow. Baby Lameck was prepared for surgery to repair the heart and the trachea.
