Mr. Shahshi Bhushan was diagnosed with Oral Cancer sometime back in February. The family sought the consultation of Dr. Rohit Nayyar, Director, Cancer Care, who detected Orocutaneous Fistula—an infection, as cancer had progressed steadily. The ulcer ejecting out of the patient’s jaw made swallowing and talking difficult. The patient was put on chemotherapy, although it took him some time to combat its adverse effects. Post-chemotherapy, Mr. Bhushan underwent Commando Surgery. It is a reconstructive surgery which removed the cancerous part and corrected the affected regions in his jaw and mouth. Irrespective of the challenges, the surgery was successful. Today, Mr. Bhushan is completely cancer-free and living a healthy life.
