Master Yuri Jafari, from Kenya, had intense discomfort in his lower abdomen, which led to the diagnosis of Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS) of the pelvic bone. Initial treatment in his country failed to improve his condition. After further investigations Yuri was started on chemotherapy to shrink the size of the tumour that had affected a chunk of the pelvic bone. Post few cycles of chemotherapy, which yielded encouraging results, Yuri was put on radiation. By the end of the treatment, Yuri had stabilised remarkably and began walking on his own. He went back home in much better health and full of energy, looking forward to a healthy and functional life.
