21-year-old Mr. Yaseen Afshir has long been suffering from frequent seizures. While he availed treatment in his native country, Somalia, nothing could improve his condition. V K Jain, Principal Director, Neurosurgery, Max Hospital, Saket, Delhi, India, who performed a video EEG and brain MRI to confirm the thinning of nerves on both sides of the brain. The patient underwent anterior temporal lobectomy, hippocampectomy, and amygdalotomy. The surgery was successful. Mr. Yaseen experienced a complete respite from the painful seizures. He is now living a healthy life and functioning to the best of his capacity.
