43-year-old Dr. Lalthanmawii Khalthang had a diagnosis of Endometriosis. Ms. Khalthang had undergone a series of surgeries from 2009 onwards, but to no avail. Her case was assigned to Dr. Sonia Naik, Senior Director & Head of Unit, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Max Smart Hospital, Saket, Delhi, India, who performed an MRI to deduce a cyst in the left ovary with Endometriosis in the rectum and both the ovaries. The patient was prepared for surgery using a robotic technique. Irrespective of the initial challenges, the surgery was successful, and Ms. Khalthang bounced back to perfect health on the second day of the surgery. Today, she is living a healthy and functional life.
