15-year-old Ms. Sabriya Samandarova, from Uzbekistan, was previously treated for Sinusitis. However, subsequent examination of her medical reports shows severe Anaemia. She was on dialysis with high anaemia and stunted physical development. With her mother as the donor, Samandarova opted for a live renal transplant surgery using the laparoscopic method. The complexities of the surgery were handled by Dr. Pawan Kesarwani, Senior Director, Urology, Max Hospital, Patparganj, Delhi, India, who created extra space inside the abdomen to avoid compressing the kidney and ensure smooth functioning. Post-surgery, Samandarova had a healthy recovery.
