Governance

In view of compliance as per the national & international guidelines for conduct of any kind of clinical research programs, like investigator initiated studies, trials, clinical trials, registries and in paramedical, medical & non-medical post graduates programs, the respective facilities running the projects are overseen by Institutional Scientific Committee and Institutional Ethics Committees  as per regulations by Government of India.

The ethics committees of each facility running clinical trials have been registered to DCGI and constituted by ICH-GCP, Indian GCP, ICMR& D&C Act. The Office of Research is instrumental in instituting these committees, running their operations and organizing their meetings.</p>

All ethics committees overseeing the conduct of clinical trial studies in MHC hospitals are registered with CDSCO as per New Drugs and Clinical Trial Rules 2019.

INSTITUTIONAL ETHICS COMMITTEE (IEC)

The IEC is responsible to ensure that medical experimentation, clinical, biomedical and health research in humans are being carried out in an ethical manner in accordance with national laws and international guidelines specifically,National Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical and Health Research Involving Human Participants (Indian Council of Medical Research), Good Clinical Practices and Declaration of Helsinki. The IEC is registered with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization for clinical trials and Department of Health Research for biomedical health research in accordance to New Drugs and Clinical Trial Rules 2019 to oversee, monitor, review and approve the conduct of clinical trials and clinical research projects in the organization.

All the institutional ethics committee are registered to CDSCO for clinical trials and depart of health research for biomedical health research 

INSTITUTIONAL SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE (ISC)

The ISC is responsible to provide guidance and oversee research projects which have been formulated by investigators and researchers from within the organization. In addition support the IEC in reviewing, monitoring and approving research projects in compliance to regulation’s in India. Further, it also has the mandate to approve thesis projects in accordance to National Board of Examinations (NBE) for Diplomat in National Board (DNB) programmes, Masters in Emergency Medicine and other medical & paramedical course running in the organization.

Devki Devi Foundation had got recognition from the Department of Scientific Industrial Research (DSIR) as a Research Institution by the Govt of India since 2013 to 2019. The renewal for re recognition from DSIR has been awarded for the period April 2019- March 2021.  Under the DSIR recognition projects have been awarded from grant agencies which are DBT, ICMR, INSA, BIRAC and DST.

The ethics committees of four hospitals i.e. Max hospital Saket, West, East (DDF), Vaishali and Patparganj have been accredited by NABH under the clinical trial program for period of three years.
