Overview
CABG or Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting refers to a type of surgical procedure that improves the flow of blood to the heart. Experts at Max Hospital, India perform this surgery on patients who suffer from severe CHD or coronary heart disease, also known as coronary artery disease. CHD refers to a condition whereby a substance known as plaque develops inside the arteries of the heart, which is made up of fat, cholesterol, calcium, and some other substances found in the blood and thus hinders the smooth flowing of the blood to the heart. In case the blockage is extreme, shortness of breath, and in some cases, even heart attack may occur.
